It takes a good man, a great man, to listen to another mixed up young man far, far away in the sands of Iraq, Kuwait & Saudi Arabia. Pete, was that kind of man. He always answered the phone know matter the time of day or night. I was the young man rambling with a spark of fear but even across this entire world we live on, I alway’s enjoyed the little inspiration, the conversations spanning thousands of miles. Pete helped me with several difficult, life changing decisions when I was stuck, sort of afraid of the unknown….Pete, almost every time would say “John it’s your decision to make, I can’t make it for you. What do you feel in your heart? What is your gut telling you to do? John, you must make this decision for I can’t make it for you.” I asked Pete many a questions, questions one would think I’d ask my 22 year Naval carreer father or my stepfather who was in the U.S. Navy also in the Korean War, but I didn’t, I asked Pete…..& I’m glad I did for he was right every single time. Pete, he just showed me how to take responsibility of my own military life, to choose what was best for myself & he never once told me what I should do, not once…I wish I’d had the chance to talk with Pete more but do to life’s circumstances, we only talked in depth 3 times after my leaving the U.S. Navy. ” To me, Pete didn’t just pass away of old age, he also passed being a good, well respected man.” Pete, now with Phyllis, may they both be in peace sharing a beautiful morning in heaven with a few cups of coffee…..RIP Pete, RIP……

I’ll miss making Pete Corned Beef and Cabbage on St Patrick’s Day. I always knew he appreciated the effort and he was always thoughtful enough to say thank you. My sincerest condolences to Chris, Sonny and Dallas and the many members of Pete’s family.

Many good memories!
