Obituary For Mary “Ellen” Dobbins

Mrs. Mary “Ellen” Parr Dobbins, age 90 of Hiram, Georgia passed away Saturday, December 25, 2021, at the Benton House in Douglasville, GA.
Born in Lithia Springs, GA, Mrs. Dobbins was one of the original members of Lithia Springs First Baptist Church and loved being a part of the “Ruth” Sunday school class while she was still able to attend. She also loved her family and enjoyed being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed cooking her favorite (and always the best) southern recipes for her family, and traveling all across the country with her husband, Billy in their RV.
She was preceded in death by her father William Ulas Parr and mother Katie Addieline Creel Parr; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Billy R. Dobbins, daughters, Patti Pacer of Hiram, GA, and Pam and Ed Payne of Douglasville, GA, 4 grandchildren, Kristi & Brian Snead of Lawrenceville, GA, Craig & Ticia Payne of Birmingham, AL, Chief Petty Officer Tara Harris, USN of Washington, DC, and Brian Williams of Decatur, GA, 5 great-grandchildren, Jackson Payne, Spencer Payne, Jocelyn Garza, Sophia Snead and David Snead, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held December 30, 2021 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted immediately following visitation at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville. Interment will take place Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ellen Dobbins’ memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.

    I am so sorry for the entire family. Patti and Pam have lost a wonderful mother, Billy a loving wife. Ellen’s passing will leave a void that can never be replaced.
