  • To Pops It is so hard not being there to say our goodbyes but we are thinking of you all of the time. Although you lived in GA we were so fortunate to be so close. You came home for every occasion and opened up travel to the USA for all of us. I was lucky enough to have my first trip to see you over there when I was 5, again when I was 11 and finally in 2018 and 2019. You were home in Ireland every year in between and for that I am grateful. One story comes to mind: although you made it home for every occasion- you had a wedding and another event the year of my holy communion and couldn’t make it home again for that and you regretted it dearly. It so happened when my sister Keelys communion was taking place you were also home for another occasion a few weeks earlier and couldn’t extend your trip to be home for both. The day before her communion you rang my mother Sandra and she said ‘jeez dad I could really do with you now, I am here trying to put this BBQ together’ and his reply was ‘how does 20 minutes sound’ much to her shock he told her he was in Loughrea (Galway, Ireland) and he’d be there in 20 minutes which he was and he put the BBQ together. He was on loudspeaker and I will never forget the shock and surprise and excitement we felt with that call. That is the kind of Father and Grandfather he was, he treasured his family so much. That is why it is so difficult to have lost such an important man from our lives. All of the condolences mean so much to us all and we are forever grateful. Love you pops 💔
