He was the firstborn of Lycurtis and Sarah and affectionately known to everyone as “Dobee,” except for his great-niece, who lovingly called him “Uncle Boo Boo.” His nickname comes from the character “The Doo Bee” on the Rumper Room Show, given to him by his mother because of how active he was as a baby. He was an avid reader, loved listening to music, and excelled at cooking, drawing, and writing poetry
Lycurtis Jr. was raised as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was baptized in the fall of 1984 in Gulfport, Mississippi. He often talked about his faith in Jehovah God and his hope in the resurrection.
He will be sorely missed by all of those who knew and loved him dearly.
