Obituary For Leonard Pierce Purvis

Mr. Leonard Pierce Purvis, age 66 of Lithia Springs, Georgia passed away Friday, February 12, 2021. He was born February 15, 1954 in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of the late Mr. Daniel Leonard Purvis and the late Mrs. Marie Odessa James. Mr. Purvis retired from Bunzele. He was a kind, gentle, strong and brave man. He was a loving husband and father. He loved to spend time with his family and friends, play guitars, being outdoors, grilling, playing video games with his son, his dogs, and work with his hands. Mr. Purvis was of the Baptist Faith.
Mr. Purvis is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mrs. Patty Purvis of Lithia Springs, Georgia; daughter, Amanda Purvis; son, Jesse Purvis; brother, Gary Purvis.
The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville Wednesday, February 17, 2021 from 1:30 PM until 2:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglasville. Interment will follow at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens.

I am so sorry to hear of Lenny’s passing. My sister and her son Victoria Buchanan and Joseph Kirkpatrick along with myself worked with Lenny years ago. He was always so nice and he spoke only of love for his family and those he called friends, he treasured. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. My father was a great man, i always thought as superman growing up. Even as i got older he was still nearly invincible. No matter how bad things seemed he always wanted us to look for the positives. I’ll miss him every day. Dad we may have had our disagreements from time to time but i held nothing but the highest respect and love for you, if it wasn’t for your guidance and help over the years i absolutely would not be who i am today. There are no words to describe how i feel. Just know this dad i love you and you’ll always be a part of me.
