Obituary for Jimmie M. Collis, Sr.

Mr. Jimmie Collis, age 70 of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Thursday, May 14, 2020. He was born May 3, 1950 in Ellijay, Georgia, the son of the late Mr. John William Collis and the late Mrs. Shirley Louise Collis. Mr. Collis was a very hard worker. He loved building birdhouses, hunting, fishing, camping, and traveling. Mr. Collis could build anything.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Raymond Wright, Charles Wright, Billy Wright, Betty Wright, Charlotte Collis and Bobby Collis.
Mr. Collis is survived by his wife, Mrs. Brenda Faye Wilson Collis of Douglasville, Georgia; daughters, Patricia Collis Mooneyhan, Naomi Collis, Amanda Beth Jones; sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy Mac and Linni Collis, Jr. of Gainesville, Georgia, Charles William Collis of Mississippi, David Russell and Tammy Collis of Pike County; step-daughters and step-sons-in-laws, Shannon and Roger Duncan of Douglasville, Georgia, Julie Crystal O’Neal of Douglasville, Crystal and Edgar Pena of Douglasville, Georgia; step-sons and step-daughters-in-laws, Samuel A. and Amanda Wilson of Williamson, Georgia, Lee J. and Marissa Wilson of Rex, Georgia; fourteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; twenty six step grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
According to Mr. Collis’s wishes, he will be cremated. A Private Memorial Service will be conducted at a later date.

To my dad, Jim Collins….the moment I met you, I was completely amazed by your charm, your wisdom, and ability to fix anything. I knew I had to have you in my life so I had you meet my momma! You are my cowboy, my image of the perfect man. I’m so grateful that you became my dad! I know you are in heaven, smiling down on us and you will be so much missed and remembered as our cowboy! Fly high dad, I’ll see you again when I come home. Until then God comfort me and my family, and his friends, give us peace and understanding, let us dwell on the happiness and all the wonderful things this amazing man did and accomplished, Jim I love you and you are and will forever be in my heart!

I had the privilege to meet Mr. Jim several years ago, he was always there when his daughter, my friend, needed him! His love and support was unconditional and helped her so much! You will be missed Mr. Jim! To his wonderful family, my prayers are with each of you and may you find comfort and joy in all the priceless memories you have with him R.I.P. Mr. Jim
