  • Rest In Peace, my Masonic brother, fellow Marine, and most importantly my Friend. Hard to believe! Leonard Spain Master Gunnery Sergeant (Retired) Sons of Beaufort # 36

  • Without a doubt, Master Gunnery Sergeant Martin will always be my favorite teacher and mentor from my life. Though there were many aspects to the program I loved, getting to see and/or learn from him nearly every day in high school via the NJROTC program was something to look forward to. He went from instructor to father figure my sister and I, and he was someone I strived to make proud as he expected great things because he knew what I was capable of. During my time in the Navy so far, I have brought him up many times in the fond memories that led up to my decision to become a sailor. My heart is broken that I won’t get to see him again, but as memories about him return to me there is also a genuine smile on my face. <3

  • I will miss you old friend, you were like a brother to me.

  • Praying that God provides the strength needed to carry on without him. He will be missed! Condolences to the family.

  • I extend my prayers and sympathies to the Martin family. His life left an indelible impact on many he encountered. Semper Fidelis, Brother.

  • Rest easy my brother. God’s blessings.

  • Master Gunnery Sergeant Martin was not only an outstanding Marine, but an outstanding human being who truly made a difference in this world and I count it as a blessing and a privilege to have served with Him at Officers Candidate School in Quantico, Virginia and to get to know the Man in retirement. His presence will truly be missed and to His Wife and the rest of His family, we pray God’s peace upon You all during this difficult time. GySgt. Spencer T. Horton USMC/Ret.

  • Rest In Peace my dear friend… Robin Crawford, Clinton MD

  • He was one of the few people on this Earth I considered a father figure. During high school (Years 2012-2016), he always pushed my sister and I to push past our limits and be the best we could be. Every day spent with him back in those days seems it was taken for granted now. All those days he worked to give us cadets the best experience and knowledge about not just the military, but life, I will never forget. I could write a novel about all the things he used to say and do that made every day in class brighter, but there’s a word limit so I can’t. But I’ll say now what I was hoping to have the chance to say when I came home from overseas duty: Thank you Master Gunnery Sergeant for everything and you are a rare diamond in a seas of jewels.

  • Sending heart felt love and sympathy to you Angelia and the entire Martin Family during this difficult time ! Blessings of strength to all ❤️‍🩹🙏🏽🙏🏽

  • Elliot was a caring man and he loved his wife Angelia. He will be greatly missed. My heartfelt sympathies to all the families involved.
