Obituary For Eleanor L. Newman

Eleanor L. Newman, 81, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away on April 17, 2022. She was born on April 21, 1940, the daughter of the late Toy L. Bishop and the late Cary Nelle Bishop.
Eleanor, was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and enjoyed the company of her Grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She worked in the Healthcare industry as a nurse for many years.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Everett Bishop, Paul Bishop and Billy bishop and sister, Leah Hammond; Mrs. Newman is survived by husband, James William Newman; her sons, Thomas Newman, Michael and Elizabeth Brook and Anthony Newman; Daughter, Kathleen and David Stevenson; grandchildren, Ellen, James, Chris, Stacey, Andrew, Michelle, and Leigh Ann; 6 Great-Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 23, 2022, from 9: 00 AM until 11:00 AM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglas Chapel with service following at 11:00 AM with Reverend Charles Gibbs officiating. Interment will follow service at Sunrise memorial Gardens.

    Dale and I met Bill; Elanore and Mike when we and they moved to Denver. Bill and Dale worked for the FAA ! They became very special friends Elanore & I always felt we were related… both of us had the last name of Bishop!!! May our LORD and SAVOIR FILL AND HEAL BILL and family and MIKE and family’s hearts during this very difficult time!! Wish Dale and I could be there w you! Also our children and families… Deborah & Tony; David; and Kevin & Miranda and family all send their prayers and LOVE to you! And I will miss “my living ; funny; “RACE CAR DRIVER” who could drive from Ga to Okla N record time!! It was ALWAYS FUNNY TO SEE MY MOM’s face when Elanore and I drove up ( from Ga to Okla) n RECORD TIME!!! It was quite a trip…!!! May our LORD and SAVOIR FILL YOUR HEARTS W HIS PERFECT AND LOVING STRENGTH AND PEACE as you share your love and special memories w everyone!!     Eleanor and Bill are very special to all the CEDAR GROVE MUSIC friends. She was so friendly and everyone especially enjoyed her desserts that she brought to share. She is missed And we just want Bill to know that he will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. Bill, please do not hesitate to let us know of anything that we can do for you.

    We have known Eleanor and Bill from years ago at Davis Chapel Bapt. Church. Sweet Eleanor always asked about me at our now church home, Central Bapt. She was a wonderful person and we will miss her. Praying for Bill and all family, that God will give comfort and strength during the coming days. Jerry and Wanda Stephens
