Obituary for Leon Priest
Mr. Leon Priest, 81 of Villa Rica, GA passed away, Friday, August 24, 2012 at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta. He was born, Jan. 12, 1931 in Alabama the son of the late Ray Priest and the late Mrs. Annie Mae Hillis Priest. He was retired from Fulton County where he was a Heavy Equipment operator. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Villa Rica. He was also a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the American Legion Post 70 where he has served as Chaplain. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant son, brothers, Howard Priest, Ernest Priest and Otis Priest. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Williams Priest of Villa Rica; daughters and sons-in-law, Debra Meadows, Gail and Chris Hales and Robin and Randy Goode all of Villa Rica; sister, Freda Craig of Lakeland, FL; brothers, John Priest of Alabama, James Priest of Douglasville, half brother, Jimmy Priest of Cullman, AL; Grandchildren, Candy Bowen, Windy Gamel, Heather Cantrell, Kalina Grimm, Krista Shoemaker, Paul Hale, Billy Camp, Ian Goode and Ethan Goode; 16 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Sunday, August 26, 2012 from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Monday, August 27, 2012 from 9:00 AM until 9:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Pastor Johnny Hightower, Daniel Priest and Billy Camp officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville. Messages of condolences may be sent to the family at www.jones-wynn.com.
