Obituary for Gladys Tyson
Mrs. Gladys Leaunia Conner Tyson, 87, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Monday, July 28, 2014 at Wellstar Paulding Nursing Center in Dallas. She was born August 31, 1926 in Haralson County, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. Doyle Conner and the late Mrs. Gussie Wright Conner. During her career she owned and operated the King Professional Building Beauty Salon. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Douglasville where she was very actively involved with her Sunday School Class. She loved life and enjoyed cruises, her card group, and spending time with friends and family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Wilbur Tyson; sisters, Beulah Morman and Mildred Lyle; and brothers, William Conner, AV Conner, Chester Conner, Bobby Conner, and Charles Conner. She is survived by her son, Greg Tyson of Douglasville; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Gene Cohran; brother and sister-in-law, Lucius and Millie Conner of Villa Rica; sisters-in-law, Trudy Martin Conner of Lithia Springs, Marcelle Conner Busby of Villa Rica, Della Conner of Austell, and Sybil Conner of Taylorsville; two grandchildren, Joshua Tyson and Eric Tyson; one great-grandchild, Gracie Ann Tyson; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Tuesday, July 29, 2014 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Dr. John Pennington officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville. Messages of condolence to the family may be sent at www.jones-wynn.com.
