Obituary for Dora Campbell
Mrs. Dora Jackson Campbell, age 80, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Monday, March 25, 2013 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born May 12, 1932 in Sparta, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. William Thomas Jackson and the late Mrs. Audrey Clarine Harvil Jackson. She retired from G.H. Bass as a receiving clerk. She was a member of Central Baptist Church where she enjoyed volunteering. She was an avid card player and enjoyed traveling. She was devoted to her loving family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Adams. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Tempie and Tom Bowling of Lithia Springs, Teresa Helton of Douglasville, and Cheryl and Donald Whaley of Warner Robins; sons and daughter-in-law, Ray Minter of Douglasville, Harris May of Carrollton, and Jamey and Jenny Minter of Temple; sisters, Anita Stewart of Douglasville and Juanita Hill of Carnesville; brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Tene Jackson of Eatonton; special friends, Barbara Dickinson and Dot Shed; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial Services will be conducted Friday, March 29, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Central Baptist Church, 5811 Central Church Road, Douglasville, Georgia 30135 with Rev. Charles Gibbs officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 10:00 AM until the service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Central Baptist Church Financial Freedom Fund or the Central Baptist Church Kitchen Fund.
