Mr. John Christopher Butler, Sr., age 77, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Saturday, September 5, 2009 at the Wellstar Douglas General Hospital in Douglasville, Georgia.
He was born May 18, 1932 in Emeraldo, Florida, the son of the late Mr. Malloy Butler and the late Mrs. Carrie Mae Higginbotham Butler. Mr. Butler was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a millright in the aluminum industry.
He is survived by wife, Mrs. Nora Jean Hartley Butler; his daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Richard Swain, Cindy and Anthony Paxton, Susan and Bruce Rogers and Kathy Marggraff ; his son, John C. Butler, Jr. and his wife, Debbie; his sister, Louise Guthrie; his brother, Charles Butler; his 3 grandchildren, Jeremy, Christopher and Stephanie; one great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside funeral services with military honors will be conducted Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at 2:30PM from the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia with interment to follow.
