Mrs. Betty Ann Logan Brown, age 75, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Saturday, July 4, 2009 at her residence. She was born July 27, 1933 in Hiram, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. Earnest Eugene “Gene” Logan and the late Mrs. Sarah A. Kirk Logan. On March 27, 1948, at the age of 14, she married Johnny A. Brown in Douglasville. She was a member of Prays Mill Baptist Church and was a homemaker. You are a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, friend, and neighbor. No matter what we call you, you’re always a caring, generous person with a huge heart who will forever live in our hearts.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny A. Brown on December 2, 2004.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth Ann and Otis Smith of Picayune, Mississippi, Linda Marcelle and Bobby Monroe of Evergreen, Colorado, and Barbara Lynn Morris and Vivian Ross of Douglasville, Georgia; sisters, Lottie Mae Kershaw of Villa Rica, Barbara Jo Blankenship of Conyers, and Martha Jean Davis of Douglasville; brother, J.C. Logan of Powder Springs; 6 grandchildren, Dawn Baldy, Laura Gray, Heather Germann, Paige Guste, Arlie “Bubba” Smith, Jr., and Phillip Craig Monroe; great-grandchildren, Caroline Baldy, Gray Baldy, Taylor Knight, Shelby Monroe, Sheldon Monroe, and Alexys Germann ; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 1:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Celebrant Glenn Gilmore and Mr. Gene Blankenship officiating. Interment will follow at New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Kennesaw, Georgia. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Wednesday, July 8, 2009 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
